A time to celebrate

community, family and friends

Image description

The festival is entirely volunteer run community event

Since 2008 the Nowthen Heritage Festival volunteer committee has organized the Festival to "Celebrate Community, Family and Friends." The committee works throughout the year to organize activities and funding so almost all of the activities are free: the day starts with a gourmet pancake breakfast followed by activities through the day in the entire park: live music, children's petting zoo, Ferris wheel, Giant Slide, inflatables and dozens of local handmade arts and crafts booths. A favorite part of the festival is the very competitive contests for the largest pumpkin, tallest sunflower and most creative scarecrow, all of which will be on display along "Scarecrow Lane" in the park. rumor has it that one of the local farmers actually sleeps out in the field to protect his pumpkins at night!

Texas Roadhouse will cater the dinner again under the big tent and our evening ends with a grand fireworks extravaganza.

The Festival is a wonderful way to show case our city's history and talents. Almost all our vendors are from Nowthen so it's a great way to shop local too. most the Nowwthen Businessess, churches and civic organizations have contributed to make this day a very special event for Nowthen and the surrounding communities.

Volunteer at your community event.  Even a few hours will make a

big difference in making the event a huge success.  And what a wonderful

way to meet your Nowthen neighbors!
